Slavia's coach compared Sabah to Barcelona: they want the ball under control, get it wide and try to dribble past you.
“Chtějí mít míč pod kontrolou, dostat se do stran a prosadit se driblinkem.”They want to have the ball under control, get out wide and beat people with dribbling. our translation
Do not expect Sabah to sit back: Dambrauskas has them pressing high and going forward, even in Europe.
“Yıllarca Avrupa maçlarında kabuğuna çekilerek oynamaya alışkın bir futbol kültürünü yerle bir edip; cesur, önde basan ve hücumu düşünen dominant bir kimlik inşa etti.”He tore down a football culture used to retreating into its shell in European matches for years, and built a brave, dominant identity that presses high and thinks about attacking. our translation
They pass their way out patiently rather than hitting it long. If nothing is on, they will go sideways and wait.
“In possession, Sabah look to control the game through patient build-up play, using rotations to create space and find players between the lines.”Flick's own rule: if you have the ball, the other side cannot score.
“Si vous avez la possession du ballon, l'adversaire ne peut pas marquer.”If you have possession of the ball, the opponent cannot score. our translation
Flick's Barcelona go forward quickly and smother you when they lose the ball.
“Un equipo que es una máquina ofensiva, vertical y de presión asfixiante que combina el rigor físico con la vocación ofensiva, esencia del estilo Barça.”A team that is an attacking machine, direct and suffocating in its pressing, combining physical rigour with an attacking vocation, the essence of the Barça style. our translation
Flick's Barça now keep the ball for long spells, moving it until a gap opens, which they never used to do under him.
“The trend matters because Barcelona's passing volume is rising at the same time as their share of possession.”
